This summer I created an Emu logo for Explo (the summer program I've been working at for the past three years). Because sometimes you need an Emu.
The original Emu was a welcoming tool for new staff members (Educate, Mentor, Uplift), but we brought the Emu into the staff t-shirt half way through the summer as well.
A few months ago, Nancy Rowland had a birthday. In celebration of this birthday, I painted her a picture of the home she so generously shares with me and many other people.
I inked the lines with a stick from the cherry blossom tree and painted the watercolors using leaves from the bushes outside the house. It was an experiment in a different type of materials usage.
